For prospective members
At the Aoyama Group, we consistently explore a wide range of topics—including cancer drug discovery, aging control, and food science—centered on the analysis of epigenetics (histone modifications). Guided by a research strategy that bridges basic and applied science, we take on socially significant challenges such as disease treatment, disease prevention, and the extension of healthy life expectancy.
Students assigned to our group belong to the Department of Hygienic Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Keio University. Each year, about two students from the department join our group. Graduate students may, upon consultation, initiate new research themes that leverage their own interests and expertise. A key feature of our group is personalized education, designed using coaching techniques. We tailor research topics and skill development plans to match each individual’s interests, abilities, and future goals. In addition to fostering growth as a researcher, we emphasize developing logical thinking, problem-solving ability, presentation skills, teamwork, and other strengths to prepare members for success across diverse fields.
We are always open to lab visits and informal meetings. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us. Together, let’s pioneer a new world through cutting-edge epigenetics research.
